The Tulsa Zoo invites guests to take a trek on the wild side!

The zoo’s Robert J. LaFortune North American Living Museum has reopened as the Robert J. LaFortune WildLIFE Trek.

“We are thrilled to reopen this four building complex featuring a variety of animals from grizzly bears to naked mole rats to albino alligators,” said Terrie Correll, CEO of Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc.  “This newly renovated complex will focus on animals from around the world and their unique adaptations to life in the cold, desert, forest and water. Our guests will experience something new around every corner while they journey through the Robert J. LaFortune WildLIFE Trek!  This improved complex will be a wonderful addition to the zoo experience.”

The Robert J. LaFortune WildLIFE Trek features an interactive keeper chat area and training wall at the grizzly bear exhibit as well as a naturalistic habitat featuring a two story waterfall and wading pond for the bears. Guests will find new features such as these throughout the complex, but they will also find many old favorites, such as the zoo’s original cave exhibit! With many exciting features, old and new, this complex will thrill all who decide to take a trek through the wild this spring!
