On his second pass after replacing Chad President at quarterback, Luke Skipper found Justin Hobbs for a 59-yard touchdown, giving Tulsa its first TD and a glimmer of hope while down 21-7.

Tulane added insult to injury, going up 62-21 on a 34-yard run by second-string quarterback Johnathan Brantley. The Green Wave hadn’t scored at least 60 points since 1998.

QB Jonathan Banks

Banks was efficient, throwing for 165 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 93 yards and another TD.

Player of the game

RB Dontrell Hilliard

Hilliard led Tulane with 19 carries for 175 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught an 11-yard pass.

Tulane scored on all seven of its series in the first half on the way to a 62-28 win over Tulsa on Saturday. The game was moved from a 3 p.m. kickoff to 11 a.m. and then on Friday evening the start time was moved up to 10 a.m. in advance of Hurricane Nate's approach to the Gulf Coast.
