Former Tulsa Golden Hurricane wide receiver Keyarris Garrett spent the 2016-17 NFL season on the Carolina Panthers' practice squad.

He has higher expectations for the 2017-18 season.

"The first goal is to make the 53," Garrett said, according to Panthers.com's Bryan Strickland. "I just want to do whatever I can do to help the team win. That’s really my goal."

After a stellar TU career, Garrett went undrafted in 2016, which he reportedly said still motivates him.

"Even this year when I was watching the draft, it brought back a lot of memories," Garrett said, according to Strickland. "Yes, I’m still upset about it, but I’m not going to let it bring me down. There are plenty of guys who were undrafted that are doing great."
