OSU 31, Kansas 13: Stoner, Hubbard star as Cowboys blowout Jayhawks in Les Miles' return to Stillwater
STILLWATER — Former Oklahoma State coach Les Miles' return was about the only suspense Saturday in Stillwater.
Cowboys receiver Dillon Stoner had 150 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while Chuba Hubbard rushed for 122 yards and two scores, as OSU rolled over Kansas at Boone Pickens Stadium.
Miles is in is first year coaching the Jayhawks. Miles left Stillwater in 2004 to be the head coach at LSU. Kansas fell to 3-7 overall and 1-6 in the Big 12.
The only disappointment of the afternoon for the Cowboys (7-3, 4-3) was a thumb injury suffered by quarterback Spencer Sanders. Sanders left the game in the third quarter after throwing for 168 yards and touchdown.
The OSU defense held Kansas to less than 150 yards offense and forced three turnovers through three quarters.
Guerin Emig: Chuba Hubbard was good against Kansas, but he must be spectacular to get to New York as a Heisman finalist

Getting Chuba Hubbard to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist is very important. This is made absolutely clear by Hubbard’s Oklahoma State teammates.

Cowboys defense has another good game
Good performances from the OSU defense have become a trend over the past three games. The Cowboys are now plus-8 in turnovers in those three games after the three-interception performance by the defense Saturday against KU. OSU nearly posted a shutout, keeping the Jayhawks off the scoreboard until they scored all 13 of their points in the fourth quarter.

Dillon Stoner
Dillon Stoner used the bye week to get more comfortable playing as the outside receiver, and it paid off against the Jayhawks. He finished with a career-high 150 yards on five catches and scored two touchdowns.

Fourth down | What’s next

Will the winning streak continue?
OSU will try for its longest winning streak of the season when it travels to Morgantown, West Virginia, to take on the Mountaineers next week. A win would be the fourth in a row for the Cowboys and their fifth straight against the Mountaineers. West Virginia hasn’t defeated OSU since 2014.

Les Miles not as high on Bullet now, but has high regard for Boone Pickens and his return to Stillwater

For the first time, Les Miles didn’t enjoy watching Bullet gallop across the turf at Boone Pickens Stadium.
In Miles’ first return to Stillwater since taking over a struggling KU program last November, the Cowboys scored in only 1:50 of game time to set Bullet free. Miles would see plenty of the black horse that runs onto the field after every touchdown, as OSU beat the Jayhawks 31-13.

Chuba Hubbard vs. Pooka Williams
Kansas running back Pooka Williams isn’t putting up numbers anywhere close to Chuba Hubbard’s but he has played well for the Jayhawks this season. Third down | Player to watch

Dillon Stoner
Oklahoma State receiver Dillon Stoner had three catches and two touchdowns in his first game on the outside after Tylan Wallace’s injury. The off week gave him more time to get comfortable and he could have another solid game against the Jayhawks.

Fourth down | Who wins and why

Hubbard should be star against Jayhawks
From Guerin Emig: The story going into this game centers around Les Miles and his return to Stillwater. The story coming out will be Chuba Hubbard's on-going Heisman Trophy push. The Cowboys' thoroughbred should enjoy his day against a Kansas run defense that ranks No. 126 in FBS. Big 12 running backs Darius Anderson (TCU), Rhamondre Stevenson (Oklahoma) and Keaontay Ingram (Texas) all rushed for over 100 yards against the Jayhawks. Hubbard might get closer to 300. OSU 49, Kansas 27.
Kansas coach Les Miles is returning to Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday

The last time Mike Gundy and Les Miles were coaching in the same game was in the 2004 Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
Miles was the Oklahoma State head coach and Gundy was his offensive coordinator in the 33-7 loss to Oklahoma State. Miles left for LSU after the 2004 season and Gundy was promoted to head coach.
