Tulsa Public Schools and Saint Francis Health System will team up Saturday to provide free COVID-19 vaccinations for students age 12 and older and their families.
“I’m not saying we predicted the future,” says Lauren Landwerlin, executive director of corporate communications for the entire Saint Francis Health System. “But we saw the possibilities.”
The record number of COVID-19 infections across the state continued Sunday after the Oklahoma Department of Health reported 3,923 new cases and 12 more deaths.
The goal is to distribute 40,000 disposable masks to help stymie the transmission of COVID-19.
Saint Francis Health System also has moved all of its testing for the disease in-house.
Dr. Jerome Adams, U.S. surgeon general, said Monday on “CBS This Morning” that medical supplies are going out but not fast enough to keep up with demand.
A fire was extinguished Thursday afternoon at a hospital in south Tulsa.
National meteorologists recorded three tornadoes — one EF2 and two EF1 tornadoes — that touched down in eastern Oklahoma. The three tornadoes resulted in widespread damage and dozens of injuries.
