Renters, tenants and small businesses can be better prepared to survive a disruption or a major disaster by learning to become more resilient.

I was checking my daughter’s homework the other day, making sure she had completed her assignments and had turned in everything on time. I didn’t do this by sitting down with her and going over her lessons, or by rifling through her backpack looking for worksheets, which would have been harder than finding a missing sock in a landfill.

China has become — or is on the verge of becoming — a scientific and technical superpower. We should have expected nothing less. After all, science and technology constitute the knowledge base for economically advanced societies and military powers, and China aspires to become the world leader in both. Still, the actual numbers are breathtaking for the speed with which they've occurred.


Earlier this summer the company, located at 7131 Riverside Parkway, received the Oklahoma Lt. Governor Small Business Award of Excellence for its growth in the small business sector and its development of jobs for Oklahomans as part of the 19th annual Small Business Day at the capitol in Oklahoma City.

Without these public-sector funds, Oklahoma would have missed significantly on the up to 975 full-time equivalent employees, 500 new products and $129 million in revenue produced by the nearly 150 companies that have received investment over the life of the TBFP Concept and Oklahoma Seed Capital Funds.
