As gunfire boomed over and over in the background, a janitor begged a 911 dispatcher to send help, saying, "There's still shooting going on! Please!" A woman breathlessly reported seeing a gunman run down a hall. And a teacher said she was holed up in her classroom with her children but hadn't yet locked the door.

If you murder your mother, then parenting has failed. If you go out and murder 20 children, then your feelings of being a child has anguish in them. The mental/emotional debris resulting from the quality of the parent/child relationship might be the source of much of human anguish.

What a joke. "Barney Fife Doak" wants us to believe all his new unnecessary wannabe cop toys are not being paid for by the state taxpayers. Who the heck does he think is paying the bill for the millions of dollars his department spends chasing down all that ill-gotten money? Since we finance his collection activity as taxpayers, that money is ours and should go to the general fund.

Former Arkansas governor and current rightwing Republican NRA supporter Mike Huckabee has stated that God allowed the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., because, "Prayer has been taken out of the schools."

Many of us feel a large measure of disappointment in that our esteemed lady governor has rejected federal funds for use in Oklahoma's cost of health care for its citizens. Her unilateral decision frees those same funds to now be spent in other states for the same purpose in a state that doesn't include such a closed-minded person who apparently has dictatorial powers, at least on this one subject.

I'm thinking that probably 90 percent of the folks who watch the news have had the experience of having a needle stuck in their arm. We know what it looks like. We know what it feels like and usually we know why we are getting it.
