Nearly two dozen Oklahoma State Parks will begin charging entrance fees next week.

The fees, which will be charged per vehicle, will be used to help fund a backlog of deferred maintenance and park improvements.

Fees at the 22 parks will start at $10 per day for a single-day pass for one vehicle or $8 for residents with an Oklahoma license plate or Oklahoma tribal plate, according to a news release from the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department.

The state also will offer passes that are good for three days or a week. Annual passes that will be good at all 22 state parks charging fees will be offered at a cost of $75 for out-of-state visitors or $60 for Oklahoma residents.
