Why I got into this business: I always loved sports and being a sports writer seemed like a great way to stay involved with sports. My junior year at Memorial High School my English teacher suggested I work on the school paper, and since the day she said that, it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.

In one sentence, why is journalism important: We tell you things you need to know, remind you of things you should know and hopefully tell you great stories about people you want to know about.

What three words describe you: Never like describing myself. I asked my brother and he said I am: Thoughtful, sensitive and inquisitive.

What issue fires you up: Poor teacher pay in Oklahoma

Who is a Tulsan you admire: My wife, Tracy, and brother, Eddie.

What is your favorite local hangout: Probably my house (I’m kinda boring), but I do like to hike at Turkey Mountain from time to time.

Favorite movie: "Brian’s Song"

Favorite book: "I am Third"

Favorite quote: “I've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come.” – Michael Jordan
