Sheron Murray Richardson was born on June 23, 1940 to David W. Murray and Nancy Beal Murray. She had the honor of being delivered by her grandfather, Dr. Peter G. Murray M.D. at Hillcrest Hospital. She received her heavenly reward on March 20, 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Sheron grew up in Tulsa and attended Barnard, Horace Mann and she was in the Class of 1958 at Central High School. She had remained extremely close to her High School friends, Theta Sorority sisters, as well as close friends in Dallas, all of her adult life. The Murray home on Woodward Boulevard was always open to all of her friends and the friends of her brother, Davey and sisters, Connie and Becky.
Sheron attended Oklahoma University and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She had the honor of being the Assistant to the Dean of Women at Oklahoma University. She met and married Dean Richardson who was a Phi Delta Theta from Ardmore, Oklahoma, and they were married on September 10, 1960 at First United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
While her husband attended Stanford University working on his MBA, Sheron was an Administrative Assistant to the President of Jantzen Swimsuit Company. While living in Fayetteville she was Administrative Assistant to the Mayor. Sheron had the gift of working with people all ages and all walks of life. She had strength in the area of detail, organization and communication.
Sheron and Dean had 2 children, Craig Murray Richardson and Amy McDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Charles Richardson; parents David W. and Nancy Beal Murray; brother, David Beal Murray; and brother-in-law, Steve Ichord. She is survived by her son, Craig Richardson and wife, Angela of Fayetteville, Arkansas, who have been her loving caregivers the last 2 years since the sudden death of her husband. She is also survived by her sisters, Rev. Connie Murray Ichord (husband, Daryl Hubbard) Tulsa, Oklahoma and Rebecca Murray Terrill (husband, Charlie) Owasso, Oklahoma; a beloved cousin, Charlyn Beal Hale (husband, Dr. Jack) and daughter, Amy McDonald. Sheron was loved by her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends going back to childhood. Her life was centered around family. Sheron's focus for many years centered around the loving care of 2 granddaughters, Jasmine and Brittany Gilbert, in their younger years.
Sheron had a dynamic personality that always woke up a crowd and put a smile on every face. She was considered a classic beauty, but her inner qualities would be what her family called Murray strong. (Positive, sensitivity to the needs of others, and a deep faith in our Lord and Savior.)
A celebration to honor the lives of Sheron Murray Richardson and Dean Richardson will take place in the near future. Interment will take place in the Murray family section of Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
