On Wednesday, the Tulsa City Council voting 8-1 to table the mask ordinance until Dec. 1.
Part of the audience broke out in applause after Councilor Kara Joy McKee cast the lone "no" vote.
Later during the meeting, the City Council unanimously approved a nonbinding resolution encouraging Tulsans to follow federal recommendations for masking and vaccinations.
