Vigil held Sunday night in Owasso for Nex Benedict
Desha Love participates in a community candlelight vigil for Nex Benedict on Sunday. Hundreds gathered at Owasso’s Redbud Festival Park to join in the vigil for Benedict, a 16-year-old Owasso High School student who died Feb. 8. Another demonstration involving Owasso students and community members is set for 9:45 a.m. Monday at the corner of East 86th Street and 129th East Avenue. The purpose of Monday’s demonstration, an organizer said, is to “show support for the youth and bring awareness to Owasso Public School’s lack of response to bullying.”
