Happy birthday to 'Golden Girl" Rue McClenahan, who would have turned 87 years old on Sunday.
The late actress, a TU graduate, died on June 3, 2010 at age 76.
A native of Healdton, McClanahan spent most of her childhood in southeastern Oklahoma, and for much of her teenage and young adult life, her family lived in Ardmore. She started her acting career at the University of Tulsa in the mid-1950s.
She is mostly known for her role as Blanche Devereaux on the hit television show "The Golden Girls," and won an Emmy in 1987 for her work on the show.
