Maj. Wendell Franklin was introduced Wednesday as Tulsa’s next police chief.

Franklin joined the Tulsa Police Department in 1997. He is a 1992 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and a 1996 graduate of Langston University in Tulsa.

Bynum has proposed the creation of an independent body to review police use-of-force incidents; and the city’s participation in “Live PD” has been criticized.
