EMSA staffing shortages affecting OKC, west Oklahoma response times

EMSA response times in the Tulsa area, where a spokesman said "things in the east are much closer together" than the western half of the state, have been near or exceeding the benchmark 90%.

Response times for Oklahoma's largest ambulatory care provider have not met compliance standards in more than a year for the Oklahoma City area, largely due to staffing shortages.

President Mary Clarke said Tuesday if no changes are made, hospitals will completely fill up again, "and it will happen very quickly. It’s not going to take four months.”
