The Tulsa Public Schools board approved the district’s 2024-25 calendar.
Classes will start on Aug. 20, and the fall semester will end on Dec. 20. With three inclement weather days built in, the tentative last day of school is slated for May 21, 2025.
In an effort to make it easier for district employees to vote, TPS will not be in session Nov. 4-5. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. The district will be out for a full week at Thanksgiving.
Rather than have a traditional fall break, classes will be out Oct. 11 for parent-teacher conferences, Oct. 14 for Indigenous People’s Day and Oct. 15 for a professional day.
Unlike in recent years, the district will not stack professional days around Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day or spring break in the coming school year.

When asked by Jennettie Marshall, district leaders said the calendar was developed in consultation with multiple groups, including the collective bargaining units for both the district’s teachers and support staff.
However, the president of the support staff’s collective bargaining unit, the American Federation of Teachers Local No. 6049, told the Tulsa World she was left out of the calendar conversations after one meeting.
