Come fill a helicopter this Sunday with toys and cash benefiting Family & Children’s Services.
Representatives from Tulsa County Helicopters and Family & Children’s Services will be on hand at Discount Tire for the Tulsa Flying for Families Event, noon-3 p.m. Sunday at Tulsa Hills Shopping Center, 7792 S. Olympia Ave.
“I wanted to be involved with a local charity and they keep donations local,” said Becky Woodward of Tulsa County Helicopters.
A landing zone will be set up at Discount Tire in Tulsa Hills to receive donations for Family & Children’s Services and for Christmas light tour tickets sales.
Tour passengers donating a toy, cash, or other gift item (valued at $10 or more) will receive $20 off their aerial tour ticket purchase. Ticket tours range from $75-$115 per person.
All proceeds and gifts will benefit the Tulsa area Family & Children’s Services.
Beginning as the Family Welfare Society in 1925, Family & Children’s Services has been devoted to strengthening families and being a force of good in the community.
Over the years, the range of services they provide has grown, but the commitment to excellent, compassionate care and counseling has never wavered.
The organization provides hope and healing to more than 110,000 individuals each year.
From helping families in crisis to serving people struggling with mental illness, addiction and homelessness, they are constantly evolving to address the unique issues people in the community face.
“This is our first time with this event, and we plan to do it every year,” Woodward said.
