Tulsa-based aircraft components maker NORDAM achieved a milestone when it shipped the 70,000th cabin window assembly for the Airbus A320, CEO Meredith Siegfried announced Monday.
The Airbus A320 family is the world's best-selling single-aisle aircraft, according to a NORDAM news release. NORDAM has been the original equipment manufacturer of cabin window assemblies for the A320 family since 2012.
"This notable production milestone for NORDAM also highlights the impressive build rate of the A320 family," Siegfried said. "We're delighted to grow with this valued customer's steady demand for window assemblies and are proud to be responsible for this important aspect of their program."
The window assemblies include two panes and the molding that holds the panes together.
NORDAM has 2,500 employees around the world at facilities in Oklahoma, California, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore and the United Kingdom. About 2,000 of those employees are in the Tulsa area.
NORDAM makes the window units in its Transparency Division facility at 7018 N. Lakewood Ave. at the Cherokee Industrial Park.
The plant also makes window composite frames for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as well as for French aerospace manufacturer Dassault.
NORDAM recently announced a 50,000-square-foot expansion to its interiors and structures facilities at the industrial park. That division, which already has 125,000 square foot of factory space, should open its expansion near the end of this year.
