The good news for Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin is that she has the lowest unfavorable rating among 11 potential Republican vice presidential candidate, according to a poll released Tuesday by Morning Consult.
The bad news is that Fallin also had the lowest favorable rating.
That's because almost half those surveyed — 46 percent — said they had never heard of Fallin. Another 14 percent had heard of her but had no opinion.
So, to 60 percent of the 2,003 registered voters nationwide that Morning Consult surveyed, Fallin is a complete mystery.

That's not unusual for political figures other than presidents, but Fallin had the highest unknown rating of the 11 Republicans and the second-highest unknown-no opinion rating combined. Only Iowa Sen. Joni Ernest (45 percent unknown, 21 percent no opinion) was higher.
Fifteen percent, incidentally, had favorable opinions of Fallin; 18 percent had unfavorable opinions.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin were the best-known of the GOP candidates, but were also viewed the most unfavorably.
Dr. Ben Carson had the best favorability rating, at 40 percent, and only he and Ohio Gov. John Kasich were viewed more favorably than unfavorably.
Among potential Democratic vice presidential nominees, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders — who is still running for the top spot on the ticket — was by far the most popular. Fifty-three percent viewed Sanders favorably.
Sanders also had the highest unfavorable rating, at 34 percent.
