Taking an objective look at President Barack Obama’s term in office leads me to the following conclusions: In spite of inheriting two wars from President George W. Bush, he is ending one of them in Iraq, and is winning one in Afghanistan, including hunting down and killing Osama bin Laden.
He jumpstarted the failing economy that he inherited and pulled us out of a recession. He would do more about unemployment, but he cannot get anything past the Republicans in Congress who seem to want unemployment to stay high to give the GOP a better shot at regaining power. The deficit has grown less by percentage amounts under Obama’s leadership than it did under Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney. Obama deposed a long-time tyrant in Libya without the loss of a single American life. So why is this young, charismatic, erudite, highly-educated man so reviled by the Republicans? They have questioned his U.S. citizenship through a manufactured and false claim of birth outside the U.S. and continue to do so. He has failed to get credit from them for anything he has accomplished, including astoundingly, from Romney for ending the war in Iraq. So why do the Republicans hate him? Former President Jimmy Carter said it is racism, pure and simple. I believe one thing is true: The American people are too smart not to re-elect him for four more years.
