How we're helping

Community Support

Tulsa and its surrounding communities are the foundation of what we do. Our mission is to inform and inspire the communities we serve. Tulsa World employees volunteer at local schools, give to United Way and support local non-profits through numerous programs and activities.

Salvation Army's Neediest Families

The annual Tulsa World Neediest Families Fund Drive is a partnership between the Tulsa World, The Salvation Army and the community to help those in need.

The annual drive has raised $6.2 million to aid local families since its inception in 1993.

More than 1,500 area households are helped through the fund each year. All of the money raised is distributed by The Salvation Army in the form of vouchers and material gifts.
Known originally as the Santa Pal project, Neediest Families traces its origins to 1928, when it was started by the Tulsa Tribune. With the closing of the Tribune in 1992, the Tulsa World took over the tradition and continued the partnership with The Salvation Army.

Tulsa Area United Way

The Tulsa World supports the United Way each year by raising funds that will benefit our community. We also help promote the United Way’s annual fund drive.Â
We believe in the mission of the United Way to bring people and organizations together to drive lasting change and results around the country and the world.
